Fusion from Carefx will streamline accessibility to clinical data
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz — Nov. 5, 2007 — Expanding its geographic reach into the United Kingdom (U.K.), Carefx Corporation, the creator of the industry's only open and scalable information aggregation platform, today announced that Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Trust) will deploy its Fusion interoperability platform to deliver identity and access management capabilities. This will enable simplified and secure access to a synchronized snapshot of patient data housed in disparate information systems.
Fully integrated with Imprivata® OneSign® Single Sign-On, Fusion will enable 2000+ clinicians at the Cambridge-based Trust to access all authorized applications with a single-user ID and password. They will also benefit from patient data aligned across multiple applications to provide a complete view of the clinical task at hand ultimately enhancing patient care delivery and clinician satisfaction and efficiency.
After an extensive evaluation of vendor offerings, Cambridge University Hospitals selected Carefx because its products best met the needs of the Trust. According to Dianne Nixon, Head of IT Programme Management at Cambridge University Hospitals, “We chose Carefx for a number of reasons. Its solutions are based on an open and scaleable architecture, enabling seamless interoperability with our existing IT investments – including our newly deployed single sign-on solution from Imprivata. Additionally, the level of success and satisfaction reported by Carefx clients is truly impressive. I have every reason to believe that the Trust will see a clinical productivity increase of well over 50 percent with Carefx, which will result in better care for our patients – clearly our top objective.”
“With an install base of over 250 hospitals in North America and Europe, we are thrilled to expand our sphere of influence and build upon our commitment to provide clinicians with simplified access to patient information in the U.K. to help Cambridge University Hospitals achieve the highest levels of care delivery and productivity,” said David Ward, vice president of business development for Carefx Corporation. “We are pleased to help Cambridge University Hospitals and the National Health Service’s ongoing initiative to overhaul and transform healthcare in the U.K.”
