Former CEO of Intermountain Health Care (IHC) Joins Board of Rapidly Growing Patient Information Aggregation Company
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - February 7, 2006. Carefx Corporation today announced that Scott S. Parker has joined its board of directors. Parker is a highly regarded industry thought-leader with extensive healthcare and operating experience.

Parker was named president of Intermountain Health Care (IHC) when the non-profit organization was formed in 1975. Under his direction, IHC developed into an integrated health system with more than 30 hospitals, nearly 20,000 employees and an innovative model that also incorporates health insurance plans and employed physicians. IHC has been named the country's top integrated system five of the past six years and is considered a national model. Prior to IHC, Mr. Parker led hospitals and health systems in Minnesota, Arizona and California. He served as the chairman of the American Hospital Association, president of the International Hospital Federation, chairman of the Hospital Research and Development Institute and was a trustee for the National Committee for Quality Health Care. He has also served as a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. In 2005, Mr. Parker was inducted into the prestigious Philadelphia-based Health Care Hall of Fame. He received his Bachelor's from the University of Utah in 1960 and a Master's in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota in 1962.
